CELEBRATE THE FIRST CANADIAN AROUND THE MOON!

From the proud community of Ailsa Craig, Ontario, we send our heartfelt Godspeed to Jeremy Hansen as he embarks aboard Artemis II.

Long before the world knew your name, many here sensed it—watching your curiosity, your determination, and that unmistakable spark—that your path would lead far beyond the horizon. Decades ago, in classrooms, on quiet streets, and under the same wide skies we still share, it felt like destiny was already taking shape.

Now, as you prepare to circle the Moon, you carry more than the flag of a nation—you carry the pride of a small town that believed in you from the very beginning. Every launch, every orbit, every moment out there will echo back to Ailsa Craig, where your journey first began.

May your mission be safe, your view be breathtaking, and your return be joyful. Know that an entire community is looking up, following your path across the sky, and cheering you on every step of the way.

Godspeed, Jeremy. We always knew.

NASA's Artemis II Live Mission Control Coverage (Official Broadcast)

Splash Down

Based on the successful launch of Artemis II on April 1, 2026, the predicted splashdown of the Orion spacecraft is set for April 10, 2026.

Here are the details for the predicted splashdown:

NASA typically refines and publishes the exact splashdown time within 24–48 hours of reentry.

  • Reentry: timing depends on:
    • trajectory corrections during the mission
    • weather at the Pacific recovery zone
    • precise orbital mechanics on return
  • Location: The Pacific Ocean, specifically off the coast of San Diego, California.
  • Mission Duration: The splashdown occurs after a 10-day mission.
  • Time: NASA expects the splashdown to happen on Friday, April 10,  ~5:00–7:00 PM ET (approx)  (subject to change).
  • Recovery: A US Navy recovery ship will be waiting in the Pacific Ocean to recover the crew and the Orion capsule.

The crew will be returning at speeds of roughly 25,000 mph, with the capsule navigating a steep reentry profile to ensure a safe splashdown

We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of the Ontario Farmerettes is a 49-min documentary which reveals the true and forgotten story of the Ontario Farm Service Force. It put 40,000 volunteer teenage girls to work between 1941 and 1952, arriving from different parts of Ontario and Quebec to many locations in Southwestern Ontario. They were called The Farmerettes. Their job: to ensure critical food production during the most perilous period of modern history.

With no prior farming experience, their hardships were tremendous. For long months, they worked under relentless weather conditions and schedules. Yet they single-handedly managed to produce hundreds of thousands of tons of food that were shipped off to the frontlines to feed starving European populations and even prisoners of war.

Through reenactments and unique archival images, We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes recounts the story of these magnificent young women, now in their late 90s, bringing back their most cherished memories while reminding us –  perhaps for the last time – that service comes in many forms.

Description

Sink or Swim — Singing Through the Noise

This spring, Séan McCann — The Shantyman — returns with a new set of original songs, alongside the trusted favourites audiences know and love, for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the moment we’re living in.

Between constant noise, relentless headlines, and the pressure to keep moving without pause, Sink or Swim asks a simple but vital question: how do we stay afloat when the world feels louder, faster and heavier by the day.  Armed with his guitar, and an unwavering commitment to truth, Séan invites audiences into a shared space of reflection, resilience, and release — where singing isn’t optional, it’s essential.

These are songs about the undertow — and what we do to resist it. About finding your breath when everything feels urgent. About choosing presence over panic, connection over isolation, and humanity over noise.

Come as you are.
Leave a little lighter.
The choice is yours: Sink or Swim.

Séan McCann Bio:

Séan McCann is a Newfoundland singer, songwriter, and storyteller best known as a founding member of the iconic Canadian band Great Big Sea. Over the past

decade, his solo work has carved out a powerful and deeply personal path rooted in honesty, recovery, community, and the belief that music is meant to be shared with, not performed for audiences.

His live shows blend original material with beloved favourites, inviting audiences to singalong, reflect, and reconnect with themselves and with one another. In his latest tour, Sink or Swim — Singing Through the Noise, McCann sings brave new songs alongside trusted classics to speak directly to the heaviness of our times. It’s a show about staying afloat in an increasingly noisy world, finding breath when everything feels urgent, and remembering that collective singing is both grounding and healing.

Whether in churches, theatres, or community halls, Séan McCann’s

performances are less about spectacle and more about presence and creating

spaces where people feel seen, heard, and a little less alone.
